Plain
answers.
If a process asks for trust, it should survive direct questions.
THE RULES SHOULD BE EASIER TO FIND THAN THE DONATE BUTTON.
01What is 2081?+
2081 is a veteran-founded direct-assistance effort. It turns pledged hours into verified payments for urgent needs and publishes a sanitized record of every completed payment.
02Why the number 2081?+
A standard working year is 2,080 hours. The 2,081st hour is the hour given back.
03Who may request assistance?+
U.S. veterans and currently serving members may submit a written request for an urgent, specific need with an identifiable provider that 2081 can verify and pay directly.
04What kinds of needs qualify?+
Initial categories include housing, utilities, transportation, work-related needs, and urgent family needs such as childcare. Each request is reviewed on its facts and available funding.
05Does the applicant receive cash?+
No. Approved aid is paid directly to a verified provider such as a landlord, utility, mechanic, childcare provider, or other business connected to the need.
06Why are requests written only?+
A written process gives every applicant the same path, creates a record reviewers can evaluate, and prevents a telephone queue from deciding who receives attention first.
07How are decisions made?+
Two independent reviewers examine the written request and verification. Assistance is approved only when their decisions match. Internal notes and applicant updates remain separated.
08What becomes public?+
After payment, the public record may show a case number, state, need category, provider type, amount, and dates. Identity, address, documents, and personal accounts remain private.
09What does hours gained mean?+
Hours gained records assistance that has been completed and paid. It does not count promises, projected impact, or marketing estimates.
10Are contributions open or tax-deductible?+
Contributions are currently closed. 2081 does not collect payment information and makes no tax-deduction claim while formation and federal filing are incomplete.
11What is an hour pledge?+
It is a public commitment to give the value of one hour of work when contributions open. No card is collected and nothing is charged.
12Can a company participate?+
Yes. A company can pledge one hour per participating employee. Corporate pledges are recorded separately and do not create influence over assistance decisions.
